| Faced with complicated and various engineering structure, more and more engineers arerequired to design lightweight structures which also have high strength and stiffness. Thestructures of organisms are the results of natural selection and evolution in millions of years,many of them have good mechanical properties. The structural bionic theory is the subjectwhich finding good structures of organisms through study on their macro and microcharacteristics. In this thesis, the structural bionics theory was applied to increase the specificstrength of aerofoil structure and wing spar and to increase the specific stiffness of workingtable impelled by electric linear direct driver in high-speed machine tool. The static anddynamic performances were analyzed also.Deep research on the structure bionic theory is the foundation of the bionic structuredesign. So, the general situation of bionic is described in this thesis and three basic theoriesof the structural bionic theory were mentioned. They are similarity theory, evolution theoryand optimization theory. The author presented several steps of bionic structure design and theflow of bionic model establishment was presented also. The new bionic design method wasput forward which depended on the organism characters and that was different from thetraditional method that depended on some biologic species. Several problems in the processof bionic structure design which should be noticed were mentioned also.In high specific strength aspect, aerofoil was researched. Through the bionic design ofwing spar and finite element analyze under three different loads, the loading performance ofbionic and original wing spar were studied.
