With the rapid development of power electric industry, the heat reliability becomes a key factory to electric devices. Cooling problerffof electric devices becomes of more and more importance, and this problem can be solved effectively by the evaporation-cooling technology.In the area of theory study, theory of pool boiling analysis concerning evaporation-cooling technology is discussed. From the view of the bubble nucleation and the bubble dynamics, the process and features of bubble's formation, growth, separation, motion during surface boiling are analyzed. The mechanisms of pool boiling heat transfer process are analyzed and the boiling curve of heat transfer theory is discussed. The diversity among different booling stages of single phase natural convection, nucleate boiling and film boiling is studied, and the four basic heat transfer modes of nucleate boiling are also illuminated.In the area of experiment study, the experiment system of evaporation-cooling technology of power commute device is designed and built. A series of experiment studies is performed with this experiment system, including the study of the contact thermal resistance between power module and the base-plate, the compare of the heat transfer characteristics among different structures, materials, currents, and system working pressures.Through the above studies, the application of indirect evaporation-cooling technology in the area of power commute device cooling is studied. A series of conclusions is gained from the experimental results and analysis, which would be useful in engineering applications and the further research.The research results in this paper have been applied in a practical project of our research center.
