| The motorcycle frame is the main part to support the load for motorcycle, its strength and fatigue life are very important for the whole motorcycle. As for the traditional approaches either Duplication manufacture or self R/D of frame, generally firstly carrying out the structural and functional design, then making prototype as well as the static strength, the modal and the dynamic experiments on it, with these processes, the static/dynamic performance of frame can be checked, if the results are not satisfied, the same processes should be done repeatedly until the results are conformed with the design. These traditional approaches need long time and costs too much in manpower, materials and money. With the development of hardware and software, the virtual experiment technology have occured consequently. This technology aims at establishing a virtual environment through the application of soft aware in replace of hardware partially or completely, thus the scheduled experiments can be accomplished in virtual environment as in real situation and the results obtained from virtual environment is close to or equivalent to the ones gotten from real environment.Based on a type of motorcycle frame, the thesis aims at applying the advanced virtual experiment technology into the R/D of new type of motorcycle frame, that is studying the approach to replace the traditional physical experiment with the advanced virtual experiment to provide the static/dynamic characteristics quickly. Firstly establishing the static strength, mode and the dynamics response analysis upon the motorcycle frame with the software MSC.Patran/nastran to analyze them, i.e virtual experiments. Then carrying out the real experiments, comparing the experiments' results with the virtual results, gradually improving the FEA model, until obtaining the modified model which reflects the reality, finally the replacement of real physical prototype experiment with virtual experiment is realized. After the virtual experiment, the results demonstrate that the static and dynamic strength of this type of motorcycle frame are sufficient, but the natural... |
