Most of failures of engineering rock mass are relevant with existing joint spatial location and joint shear strength . failure modes of engineering rock mass are determined by joint spatial location .Failure probability of engineering rock mass is controlled by shear strength of joint. Empirical estimate-method have many advantages , such as simple operation , short time of construction and low cost , moreover, geology surrounding, engineering conditions and scale effect are considered as influence factors of joint shear strength. Du Shigui et al proposed that empirical estimate-method can replace direct shear test to provide calculation parameters for stability appraisal of engineering rock mass. In this dissertation, JRC-JCS model are selected as estimate-method of joint shear strength to estimate shear strength parameters of joint. On purpose of obtaining shear strength parameters of joint quickly and accurately , average slope method based on JRC-JCS model are proposed , and estimate-method of shear...
