The specially shaped column frame concrete structure is highly receipted by thedevelopers and consumers for its good service capacity and high ratio of usable area tocovered area. The government also approbates the structure system for its energyconservation and environment protection. As a new structural system, R.C. framedstructure with special-shaped columns has been known about its advantage. Recently yearssome researchers have being studied it fairly systematically and put forward some sectionsdesign programs. But on the point of aseismic capacity of the whole structure, the test andtheoretic analysis on the specially shaped column frame structure are deficient.Nowadays, a simple and effective method to evaluate aseismic capacity-Push-overmethod is paid more and more attention to. The article analysis the effect of the horizontalloads and the P-? to the results by analyzing the example. In ADINA8.0, three dimensionsBeam element is designed to simulate the columns and the beams of the frame. User mustdefine the bending moment-angular rotated of member ends relationship and axial force-bending moment relationship. The author compiled a program to solve bending moment-angular relationship curve. Push-over analysis on specially shaped column frames arrivedat displacement between stories, yielding mode and evaluate aseismic capacity. Based onabove researches, combining the special-shaped columns frame push-over results thearticle analysis the effect of the axial compression ratio and the steel ratio to the results.The article provide some practical suggestion on the design of the specially-shaped columnframe.Trough the push-over analysis of a six floor specially shaped column frame, andcontrast it with the outcome of the push-over analysis of a common frame, we find thespecially shaped column frame have the same aseismic with the common frame almost.We also find increasing the steel ratio of the weaker floors properly can minish thedisplacement between floor of the weaker floors.
