Research On The Software Reliability And Host Software Design Of VDR Based On VxWorks

VDR is an intelligent equipment which is used to record and conserve the important information and parameter of vessel during its voyaging. Its function is similar to the "black box" on the airplane. When vessels meet accident, the data play the important role in analyzing the origin of the accident.VDR has many functions including information gathering, information transferring, information recording, information encrypting, information backup, accident analyzing and so on and can record the recent course, speed, information of sonar, temperature, humidity, pressure of the vessel and the order of the commander. Once vessels meet wreck, As long as succors read data from the pdc, they can know the reason of wreck.This paper is based on the theory of software engineering and regard ensuring the high software reliability as the aim of research. It describes the process of the design of the host software, the measure to improve the software reliability and how to deal with the critical technology in detail.At first, the paper introduces the function and structure of VDR and the definition and character of software reliability; Then, analyze the kernel of embedded operating system VxWorks and its IDE tornado. It introduces basic content of software reliable technology and emphasizes on the process of software reliable design and its four patterns; At last, on the base of software reliable technology, according to the character of embedded system and the idea of pattern-oriented software architecture it describes the reliable design process of VDR host software and false- tolerance technology in detail. Then, it introduces the realization of digital audio technology, CAN bus technology and Ethernet technology used in the system.
