During the last decades, arch bridges with concrete-filled steel tubular have been built and spread all over the country. It has numerous advantages, such as the simpleness of construction and handsome of appearance, so it was used widely in the urban bridge construction. Generally, the span of arch bridge is not too long but the bridge deck of that is wide. In order to satisfy some demands such as structural load- carrying capacity and structural stability, the method of increasing the piece of arch rib may be adopted. The economical and reasonable scheme of designing wide arch ribs bridge was given through contrasting between three arch ribs bridge and two arch ribs bridge.Firstly, the development history and outlook of the concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) arch bridge was introduced in this paper, and the structure of CFST tied-arch bridges was discussed too. Then, based on the above knowledge, the method and step of the design and calculation of the CFST tied-arch bridge was studied concretely.The several pieces of main work in this paper are as follows:1. Discussed the disposal schemes of arch ribs in the wide CFST tied-arch bridges and analysed these schemes contrastively.2. Studied the influence to the mechanical behavior and stability of arch ribs made by the main parameters, such as the rise to span ratio, the coefficient of arch axis.3. Under the same kind of arch axis and the same intensity safety store of material conditions, material consumption, mechanical behavior and constructions of the structure were analysed through comparing three arch ribs bridge with two arch ribs bridge.4. Adopted the software, Dr. Bridge and Midas/civil (a professional programfor bridges calculation in Korea), the internal force of the structure was calculated.
