As an advanced generation and adjusting speed technology of A.C motor, A.C. Excited Machines(ACEM) can be applied in power generation using a variable-speed constant-frequency(VSCF) scheme to produce electricity, in a pumped-storage hydraulic power plants, and in high rate variable speed drive fields. The active and reactive power of ACEM can be controlled independently and stably. The power factor can be freely varied. From its basic fomula, a method of VSCF is proposed by studying its mathematic model. Aiming at the characters of dual energy flow of ACEM, a scheme of AC-DC-AC plus dual PWM control is adopted and implemented through a system with the new motor control microprocessor TMS320F2812. Practically, its hardwares are designed and debugged. The main programs are compiled and debugged based on mixed programming of C and assembly lagusage. The simulation results demonstrate that the stator flux oriented vector control strategy is feasible and practical. As a result a method is provided to realize independent controls of active and reactive power for ACEM concretely.
