Due to the advantage of high sensitivity, simpleness, trustiness, and speediness, the current differential protection are used as the main protection of high-voltage & exceed high-voltage power transmission lines more and more, with communication system of electric power fast developing. Aiming at this trends, this paper is to research application from the principle of current differential protection, using the RCS-931 digital phase segregated current differential protection for high-voltage & exceed high-voltage power transmission lines. The mainly contents of this paper are: Where the principle of current differential protection is concerned, this paper is summarized, based on the principle of current differential protection and combined the real problem of protection of our country and the developing reality & trend of electric communication in China. This paper introduce idea & schemes of communication interface of digital phase segregated current differential protection for high-voltage & exceed high-voltage power transmission lines, analyze the existed synchronization of current sampling and evaluate them. Several questions are discussed in applying the digital phase segregated current differential protection based on RCS-931, and debug the equipment in worksite. Analysis of factors impacting on operation of optic protections, putting forward channel switch scheme of fiber protection when bypass breaker as line breaker.
