Pump and fan are widely used in HVAC industries. These instruments run frequently. So they are mainly energy-consuming equipments. It is important for energy saving to choose proper equipments. In the course of choosing, counting pressure loss is an important aspect. Pressure loss coefficients have to be confirmed before counting the pressure loss.Honchoing Ltd sponsored this study in Henan province. Turbulent flows in fittings with one elbow, two elbows (Z-shape), 45-shape tee and T-shape tee were studied by solving three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations and experiment, analyzing pressure and velocity distributing in ducts, revealing pressure loss mechanism. The affecting distance was measured. Pressure loss's hydrodynamic characteristics in close-coupled fittings were also studied, summarizing the rules of interactive loss of the bends and analyzing the reason superficially. This study can not only make us realize the hydrodynamic characteristics in combining bends more deeply, but also provided scientific reference for the study for mechanism and prediction in the future.
