Measurement Planning And Model Reconstructing Of Free Surface In Reverse Engineering

Reverse Engineering is the reverse procedure of products' designning and manufacturing which is different from the traditional one. Reverse engineering is one of the focuses in advanced manufacturing technologies, and it is also a new application in mechanics. The technology can design new products quickly and shorten the periods of designing and manufacturing.This thesis has studied the principles of reverse engineering and has finished several tasks such as follows: Firstly, after studying the curves and surfaces' characters, it has presented the way for the fractionize measurement and classify interpolation. With which we can get the eligible models. Secondly it has presented a way for the measuring plan which is based on the surface delamination and the technology for the NURBS surface fit function. Afterward the CMM has been used to measure the original product and get the data points which have been called "point cloud". Lastly the Surfacer software has been used to implement pretreatment and rebuild the model from the point cloud, and get the free surface model which is confirm to the requirement.The studying of this thesis has realized the whole process of reverse engineering which began from the measurement planning to the model rebuilding, and it has reached some expectant goals such as follows:1. It has presented the ways for the measurment planning and model constructing of curvses and surfaces, and has gotten good results.2. It has used the CMM to measure an original model to get its data point.3. It has reconstructed the surface's model in the computer and has realized the goal of measurement planning and reconstructing. It has been usd as the basis for the subsequently study in Reverse Engineering.
