| RP (Rapid Prototyping) is a new technology developed since 80s last century. Comparing with traditional manufacturing method, it has some special advantages: low produce cost, short produce time, rapid response to market and component having excellent mechanical properties. RP technology is widely used in many fields such as industrial manufacture, automobile, architecture modeling, medical apparatus, human organ modeling and archaeology. A RP data preparing system can be built to realize the automatic support generation. In this way, the manual labor by the RP machine operators will be greatly reduced, the operation mistakes and support missing can be avoided so that the quality of rapid prototypes can be improved. In this dissertation, a study has been performed of the techniques for automatic support generation based on CLI model and the software has been developed for the implementation. The research work covered in this paper is as follows: the correctness of automatic support generation and the effectiveness of software have been validated by prototyping some typical parts. First, this dissertation gives the general design for the automatic support generation. And suitable data structures about the two major function of the soft are presented. Second, during the design of software programming, the dissertation gives the principle and method. Some language is described in detail. It's needed to do more data processing such as inside and outside contours recognition, facular radius compensation, latticing model and automatic support generation. I suggested some new algorithm in the transformation, including generated support reduction and splitting section. On the whole rapid prototyping process, it can provide the wanted result and reach the fundamental demands. In the end, some tests give new ideas to improve processing correctness and practicability of the developed automatic support generation system. It proved that the system can handle complicated contour of the model and works stably and reliably. |
