Abstract/Summary:
In the background of Wuhan hybrid electric urban bus development project and on the basis of WG6120HD hybrid electric bus mutually developed by Wuhan University of Science and Technology and Wuhan Bus Factory, this paper discusses the establishment of the theory and practice of sustainable public transportation under the circumstance of the shortage of resources and the deterioration of environment, and put emphasis on the great advantage of hybrid technique in the sustainable public transportation as well.According to the summary of International Energy Agency, sustainable public transportation includes two aspects: new type public transportation system and new type bus technology. This paper elaborates the development mode of modern city sustainable public transportation in these two aspects. From the establishment of new type bus transportation system, this paper discusses the establishment of high-speed public transportation system, public transportation signal priority system, public transportation tracking, passenger information system and the significance and importance of the establishment of new type ticket system to the build of sustainable public transportation; from the new type bus technique, this paper discusses three feasible kinds of bus energy systems in the future and highlight hybrid electric bus in the detail of its structure features, advantage, the research results of hybrid electric bus achieved by other countries and its influence to public transportation.On the basis of WG6120HD hybrid electric bus, this paper introduces the structure arrange pattern of the bus, configuration selection, and focuses on its core components, energy management mode, the control mode on the basis of public transportation routes and the multi-level efficient frequency conversion and speed adjustment electric bus drive system used in this bus. This paper gives a summary of a series of experiments of WG6120HD hybrid electric bus done by the task group, which includes whole bus performance experiment, hybrid system experiment, petrol-consuming experiment, battery charge-recharge experiment, engine working status experiment, generator working status experiment and public transportation routes actual function experiment.
