With the emphasizing on the stability of the electric power system, more and more researching and applications for phasor measurement system have done by people. PMU(phasor measurement units)provide synchronized measurements of real-time phasors of voltages and currents, and it can provide the exact time label for these measurements, the fault location algorithm can use these informations correct the errors of the line's parameter and length and give the exact location of the fault. Taking account of actual situation that not all the node of system have GPS , this dissertation give another location algorithm. This algorithm can correct the errors of the line's parameter and length and give the location result through iterative calculation too. Lots of emulation suggest proved that these location algorithms are immune to the fault resistance ,the parameter error and the length error. It can give the exact location at most of situation. So we can say these methods are more robust. In addition, this dissertation gives the framework design of hardware and software.
