Pile breakwater is a kind of structure which can reduce wave height , it has abroad developing foreground. Breakwater can reduce wave height according to the theory that waves energy are mainly concentrating the surface of water . comparing With other breakwater of current light-duty, pile breakwater has obvious advantage: first, the construction is simple , being applicable to the soft soil foundation particularly, the construction is convenience, the price of building is low ; second , the affection to the current surrounding is small; and the last, its adaptability of the variety to coast and river beds is stronger, at the same time ,it can be used as wharf and so on.Pile breakwater is mainly studied about hereinafter several facets in this paper : waterpower characteristics are analyzed linking the phenomenon and result of the experiment , the others productions are analyzed and summarized about pile breakwater. The factors are discussed which impact wave transmission coefficient, the main factors which effect transmission coefficient are studied and its regulations are discussed .The indication and subordination factors are debated with the standpoint of the waterpower characteristic. Physics model experimentation are carried through in order to investigate the rationality of formula and analyze the regulation of its influence. The wave transmission coefficient formula is ascertained with the method of theories . The curves of theory and experimentation are compared in the same delineation and the wherefores of the discrimination are analyzed simultaneity. In addition, a useful wave transmission coefficient formula is put forward which base on the investigation production, it can be referred in actual application.
