Curved box girder bridge is a space structure. Due to the influence of the radius of curvature, the mechanical characeristic of the curved box girder bridges differ to those of the straight bridges. The tensioning of the steel wires is the key step in the construction process, improper tensioning sequence may result in the destroy of the structure in the constuction process. In the paper, a systematical research on the tensioning sequence of the steel wires of P.C. continuous curved box girder bridge which is based on National important engineering-shiyezhou interchange of Runyang Yangtze River Highway Bridge is made.A brief introduction of the deduction of Valsov equation about curved beams is given in this paper at first. The finite element model which analyzes the property of the curved box bridge is established to study the property of curved box bridge with the loads such as gravity and prestress. And the effect of the important parameters such as the radius of curvature is given.In the last part of this paper, the finite element model which analyzes the stress of the beam section in different tensioning sequence is established through stimulating the construction process. Some possible tensioning methods of prestressing steel wires are analyzed and compared with each other, then the rational sequence of tensioning pre-stressing steel wires is brought forward.
