Household central air conditioning has been widely used in China since 1990's. It is very suitable for the large area houses and can improve the indoor air quality. There are four principal forms: mini chiller,wind pipe heat pump,VRV,gas heat pump. After comparing and analyzing their structures and characteristic, we find that the mini chiller is the suitable for our country. This paper analyzed some improved technology, which has been applied on the mini chiller to satisfy the requirement of the residence.This paper introduced the process of developing the software called "Computer Assistant Design and All-year Power Consumption Calculation for Household Central Air Conditioning System",in which FLASH was used to demonstrate the air conditioning system's working process.This paper made use of the random model to calculate the meteorologic parameters hour by hour in Nanjing. Both the traditional BIN way and the improved BIN way to calculate the system's all-year load were expounded in this paper. Many equipment sample books were collected to analyse the factors affecting the performance of the mini chiller .The all-weather performance equations of each chiller were got by using the least squares fit method. To realize the optimization of selecting the household air conditioning system's equipments , the equilibrium temperature and the load difference, the all-year power consumption and the operation cost of the system can be gotten by the software.A set of household central air conditioning system was selected for a villadom in this paper. A series of experiments were carried out to analyze the performance of the mini chiller when defrosting and test the stability of the indoor air temperature.
