The cable-stayed bridge is a kind of indeterminate flexible structure with many redundant degrees, which consists of three basic members: towers, girders and cables. The cables are strained . The towers and the girders are in the state of both press and bend.Because of its variant inner force under dead-loading, nonlinear behavior and the correlation between construction method and completed structure, the constructions nonlinear analysis that consider those factors become very necessary in the design of cable-stayed bridge. This paper attempts to have some contribution on these. In this paper, the feasibility of several nonlinear solutions is discussed for the cable-stayed bridge geometric nonlinearity and the relative calcu-lations are operated to get the influence of each nonlinear factor. The analysis methods of the geometric nonlinearity of cable-stayed bridge are reviewed. Furthermore that how to divide bridges with finite element method has been discussed. The example bridge is Jinjiang Jinsha River cable-stayed bridge, which is under construction in Sichuan province of China. The cable-stayed bridge has been anslysised with ANSYS finite element program including the cable sag effect, the beam-column effect and the large displacement effect under specifical load. And the effect of the structural damping measures adoped in this bridge on self-frequency has been calculated and analysised.
