In recent years, hydraulic turbo machinery is heading such aspect for development as high velocity, low energy consumption, high cavitation performance and stability. Cavitation performance good possess badly in the overall performance of appraisement hydraulic machinery. Cavitation destroy make efficiency falling, capability decreasing and vibrate aggravating, which is the biggest threat of the safe operation of hydroelectric station. Therefore, correctly forecasting cavitation destroys and its influence of hydraulic machinery have deep theory and realistic meaning. The runner of water turbine which true fluent is accidental, three-dimensional, viscid and incompressible flow. This paper's purpose is numerical simulating three-dimensional turbulent flow of runner in base of N-S equation by using standard k — ε model. Some typical work condition was computed for getting velocity and pressure distribution of water turbine's runner and pressuredistribution of some aerofoil. We can see that cavitation damage occurred easily on runner's outlet side.Because of quantity increased in water body of which having out-of-phase, which leading to volume breaking strength decreased, thus cavitation damage occurred easily. Units building on silt-laden river will suffer from cavitation damage and silt wear. This article adopted water sample of WanJiaZhai Water Power Station, finding the value of initial and critical vapour pressure in laboratory. This conclusion can offered a basis for studying destroy jointly of cavitation damage and silt wear and for selecting units' net suck head correctly. The text initiate from sloughing of runner's wear-resistant material, analysing flowage and its regular adjacent pitting, further researching the relation of cavitation and wear-resistant material's slough, as well as the necessity of utilizing it.
