With the promulgating and implementing of Code for design of concrete structures (GB50010-2002) ,HRB400(the new grade III steel) will be widely used in engineering structure.When HRB400 steel be used as stirrup,the reinforced concrete beam may appear so oversized diagonal crack that it cannot satisfy the engineering requirement for applicability and durability. So whether reinforced concrete beam with high-strength stirrup can meet the requirement for applicability and durability under service load is one of the engineering problems.Based on the experiment study of 16 reinforced concrete beams of T-section with high-strength stirrup,this paper not only studies the development of diagonal crack and its failure model under concentrated loads and uniform loads but also put empasis on the discussion of the different factors that attect the diagonal crack width,such as the form of load,the distance between stirrup,and the strengh of concrete and steel bar.Using neural network toolbox of MATLAB , BP Neural Network model were built on the basis of experimental data in this paper.It is showed that the model of artificial neural network in training can exactly imitate the training valuation,which justifies the network can meet the requirement for accuracy. So the theory of artificial neural network can be applied to predict diagonal crack width of high-strength reinforced concrete beam.At last,on the basis of some other concering experiment of domestic and foreign scholars,the paper gives the empirical formulas on the calculation of diagonal crack width.So the formulas can estimate the Shear Crack Width .
