With the further development of China's opening policy, high buildings, wide-span buildings are largely built, and at the same time, the technology of computer develop quickly, the subject of interaction between high-rise building and foundation become rapidly a new application subject. In the past, the superstructure was considered as a single element whose bottom was fixed on the foundation. Apparently this approximately approach was unsuitable well for the real structure, so the design was insecurity or diseconomy. This article has summarized the research approach and achievement of the interaction between superstructure, foundation and ground. According to the theory of the interaction among superstructure, foundation and soil, the subsoil, foundation and upper structure are studied as a whole in this paper. By choosing appropriate two and three-dimensional mechanical models and simple effective analytical method, finite-element program "ANSYS" is applied to calculate and analyze the models largely in the method of simulation. In these models, material nonlinear and boundary nonlinear are considered. By the comparative and comprehensive analysis, the effect of each aspect of the interaction is obtained as a result of forming superstructure frame stiffness. And the diversification laws of superstructure and foundation internal forces, stresses and strains are obtained through analyzing the effects of stratum structure, foundation section form, soil material and setup of interface unit towards interaction. Simultaneously, optimizing suggestions to engineering designs and supplemental revising proposes to current foundation designs.
