The research purpose of this paper is to analysis the flight dynamic performance for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) without empennage and to evaluate its operation and stable performance. Then offer some reference to design and development. Two methods are used in this paper to analysis the flight dynamic performance for UAV without empennage by qualitative and quantitative analysis. One is calculating two longitudinal modes by linearizing the basic motion equations. The other is three-dimensional flight simulation research with complete motion equations. The main research contents are as follows: 1. CAD method is used to found three-dimensional shape for UAV. Then one commercial soft is used to calculate its air dynamical performance. 2. Establish mode equations for UAV by linearizing the basic motion equations. Calculate and analysis operation response of two longitudinal modes with MATLAB control box. And design for longitudinal stable control. 3. Technologies such as DirectX, object oriented programming and database are used to realize visual three-dimensional flight simulation system. In the simulation system, operator controls UAV with flight rod. The system can display the change of position and track for UAV with the change of operational input. Flight simulation data can be also recorded. Then we can analysis the operation and stable performance of UAV without empennage with qualitative and quantitative methods.
