In the 10 years, scientists always look for a way to identify the damage of the complex structure. System identification is a key point, which can identify the damage of structure from the dynamic response of the whole structure by means of existing theory. In the field of identification, there have already been many mature methods, and they have been divided into two parts: Static and Dynamic Assessment. Both of them have the same process based on structural experiment. We can get the information of the structural damage and make the detection and location of damage by comparing the real response of some part of structure with that of the former modal. Damage detection by using the changes of dynamic parameters is conventionally a kind of damage identification method, which is can be used in this study.In this study the numeric simulation and modal analysis are given by means of frequency and strain with different damaged steel truss by finite element analysis and the datum obtained from the dynamic tests are also analyzed and compared to the datum of numeric simulation. Analysis results show that the damage location of the truss stick can be identified effectively by means of the axial strain change. The model test of truss structure is the main clue of this article. The method of test and process of truss structure model, establishing dynamical analytical model of truss structure and being compared with the datum of real test are sequentially discussed.In the process of experiment, the frequency and figure of vibration of the truss structure are obtained by means of the dynamic test of truss in which the soft of DASP can be used. The theoretic method of this article is based on the soft of ANSYS.Analysis results show that the damage location of the truss stick can be identified effectively by means of the frequency and strain etc. from the modal analysis of the datum of real test of truss.
