A reactive power optimization and control system is becoming more and more important for electric power companies. The reactive power optimization and real-time control system presented is based on the SCADA framework. Then genetic algorithm (GA) has been used to complete the reactive power optimization and the remote control and remote regulating function of SCADA to operate the control scheme. In this paper, super short time prediction of load technique, power flow computation, sensitivity analysis and fuzzy expert system regulation are combined together. Optimal and control of voltage and reactive power in the whole area network and the number of adjustment can be implemented at a state of optimal compounding, as a result, the power system voltage stabilization can be improved, loss of network and the number of adjustment can be decreased. Field applications show that the system is convenient and flexible to satisfy the requirement of control, Which has obvious financial effect and great market future.
