Based on summarizing and analyzing of the predecessor's research findings, the inverse problem of control with specified pressure is been researched from the point of view of the control of pressurized fluid transients (PFT) and the rule of adjusting the valve, a kind of hydraulic part which can be controlled, can be approached. The control of the valve motion rule using the cam, under the condition of given valve opening, is discussed. The main contents are as following. In view of the pressure control problem that we always meet in the piping system in practice, a series of research works are developed systematically. The basic means and theories of the inverse problems with pressurized fluid transient are presented. The main part of this paper is using the method of characteristics to solve the problem. Firstly, based on the amplitude of pressure, by the method of diagram, the water head and discharge flow rate of all the points on the pipeline are reached. Then, according to the opening of valve and the relation between the flow rate and head, the motion rule of valve stem is determined. And then, from this rule, the motion rule of movable parts is derived. Following it, the corresponding outline of the cam can be designed. After trial and error, the optimized rule of regulation for the cam under secure state is derived and the outline of cam under this rule is designed. The main idea is to build the optimized mathematical model of the controlled inverse problem with specified pressure. Combining with the curve of opening under the optimized closing rule of valve, the transform relation between the relative opening of the valve and linear or angular displacement of the practical valve handle is realized.
