Recently, more and more tall buildings have been extensively constructed with mixed structural elements consisting of the steel reinforced beam-column joints. This structural system makes each material, such as structural steel and concrete, to reach its best advantage. The bearing capacity, ductility and the seismic behavior of this structural system are better than realized using either material alone. However, few information is available on the seismic behavior of the steel reinforced concrete beam-column joints. In this paper, the main properties of SRC interior beam-column joint under cyclic loading are discussed, based on the test result of six steel reinforced concrete interior beam-column joint specimens. The main properties include the failure modes, bearing capacity, ductility, the transfer mechanism and the influence of the axial compression ratio on the SRC beam-joints and so on. According to failure modes, the mechanism of SRC interior beam-column joint is analyzed and a formula for the shear strength of SRC interior beam-column joint is proposed, satisfactory agreements between the calculation and the experimental results are obtained. According to a double parameters damaging model, a model that describes the cumulative damage in the SRC beam-joints subject to cyclic load is set up by author, the member's damaging process can be quantitatively described and each factors which influence the SRC beam-joint's seismic behavior are described and analyzed. The paper carried out a test of six joints under the cyclic reversed load. The author analyzed specimens mechanics capability and seismic behavior though studying test results. Details as follow:l.The six specimens of joint are divided into 3 groups under the cyclic reversed load. The strain and displacement and load of every stage of test is gathered.2.The details of specimens, the process of test and the main phenomena of the specimens during the test are introduced.3.The 3 major crack modes that occurred in test are described. At the same time, reasons for crack are analyzed.4.Base on analysis of hysteretic load-displacement loops of all specimens the seismic behavior of specimens can be explored in flowing aspects: transform capacity, energy dissipating capacity and stiffness deterioration.5. At last, an equation calculating ultimate shear-resistant capacity of joints and an equation calculating crack-resistant capacity of joints are presented, therefore, the results are useful for practice.
