Study On The Treatment Of Miyun Reservoir Water By Deep-bed GAC Flofilter

Deep-bed GAC Flofilte is a good integrated procedure. During the treatment of Miyun Reservoir water, the characteristics of Deep-bed GAC Flofilte were studied. The main results were summarized as follows: It is feasible to treat Miyun Reservoir water with Deep-bed GAC Flofilte. During algae blooming in raw water, the process could be operated in the mode of flofilter. If raw water quality is good or its temperature and turbidity are low, the process could be operated in the mode of direct filtrationDuring algae blooming in raw water, the process is operated in the mode of flofilter. The dosage is 2.0mgAl3+/L. And adding H2SO4 makes pH of water in flocculation tank is 6.60. The removal rate of algae is up to 95.6%. The turbidity of enfluence is 0.15~0.20NTU. The loading rate of filter is 13.8m3/m2·h.If raw wateris low temperature and low turbidity, the process is operated in the mode of direct filtration. The dosage is 0.5mgAl3+/L, The loading rate of filter is 13.8m3/m2·h. The turbidity of enfluence is 0.16~0.22NTU. The removal rates of UV254 and OC respective are 15.4% and 19.0%. And the filter run time is 24h.The recycle rate of DAF is 10%. The pressure in saturation tank is 0.52MPa. The loading rate of filter is 13.8m3/m2·h. Good removal of algae, turbidity, organic matters and so on can be achieved. The characteristic of scum is stable. The acceptable highest inlet turbidity for DAF could be 200NTU.Deep-bed GAC filtration replaces sand filtration,so the advanced treatment can be achived. The turbidity of enfluence is 0.18~0.23NTU. And The removal rates of UV254 and OC respective are 26.8% and 21.6% by filtration unit. Based on the results of turbidity removal, particles removal, filter run time and abrasion test, the primary conclusion was drawn that granular activated carbon could be applied as conventional filter media.Deep-bed GAC Flofilte makes DAF and Deep-bed GAC filtration in one tank, which integrates conventional and advanced treatments in one tank. The mode of operation is flexible.It can operate in mode of flofilter and direct filtrationr.
