Research On Substation Automation System Based On Ethernet

This paper is about the research of using Ethernet in substation automation system to rebuild old KT2000 automation system for the second generation. Based on the requirement of substation automation communication system and the analyse of Ethernet and TCP/IP protocol, the paper brings out a scheme using Ethernet and serial communication technology. The work mainly contains two parts.Firstly, the paper is about the development of communication management machine used in the second version of KT2000 substation automation system, which combining the Ethernet and serial communication technology. The paper describes the design and the debugging of the hardware and software system. Using the hardware system and some software modules, according to communication protocol of the multi-functional meter, the thesis describes the development of automatic meter reading apparatus, and the software of the apparatus is analysed carefully. Secondly, the paper is about the design of substation monitoring and control system software, and the development of ActiveX control used to communicate with communication management machine and automatic meter reading apparatus. The program flow and principle of two control is analysed particularly in this thesis.Now, the second version of KT2000 substation automation system is put into practice. The real running of substation automation system which including the communication management machine, automatic meter reading apparatus and the two ActiveX control, works well.
