The Research And Application Of Intelligence In City Security

The paper analyzes the status quo of City Security (CS) and identifies its problems, then investigates into the problem of Intelligence in City Security, taking into account the specific enviroment of application, communication requirement, economical efficiency and existing technological achivements, and finally. It is valuable not only in theory but also in practice.The paper mainly discusses the theories and technologies related to a system of ICS and presents corresponding solutions to the following problems in a system of ICS. First, to realize an automatic gatering of basic information of CS, wirelss cameras and detectors are applied to gather video information and situation information of city security. Second, to have an economical bandwidth of data transmissing, the technology of MPEG4 is applied to compress video pictures so as to reduce data transmissed with a guaranteed video quality. Third, to realize transmissing of the basic information of ICS, wireless channels are used to make a short-range transmissing of relevant information and Internet and PSTN for long-range transmissing. Fourth, to realize automatic receiving and processing of the information of ICS, data-gathering cards combined with servers to achieve automatic receiving, saving, assorting out-put of the alarms. Fifth, the paper has completed developing the related hardwares and softwares.Based on the reseaching findings, a beta system, which has been favorably commented by the users, has been developed. The system has a wide applicability in transmissing data of ICS information using PSTN to realize automatic alarming and processing. The system, if there is a small adjusting varing to specific situtiong of applications, can also bring into play in areas like remote meter-reading and self-service inspecting or monitoring, which can prove valuable if applied and popularized.
