With the rapid development of the technique on the electric power and the microelectronic circuit with the progressive improvement of the theory about computer AC electromotor control , the transmission technique on AC electromotor advanced rapidly and the trend to supersede DC traction transmission came forth. Thus the AC transmission technique is in wider and wider use in related fields such as orbital vehicles. In order to study efficiently the technique on AC electromotor control, it is necessary to set up an experimental flat on ground which can simulate all kinds of movement conditions in an electric power traction system. So data processing work can be continued.The simulant and experimental system of the AC traction of a orbital vehicle designed in this paper, is made up of a set of AC electromotor (two) and traction choppers and detective devices and an industrial computer. The testing and analyzing flat, according to the result of traction calculation, transfers some instructions which will include the rotate speed and electromagnetic torque of a train(here two electromotors simulates the movement of a train)and line resistance, to the traction chopper; at the same time the state parameters, including voltage and electric current interrelated to its characteristic, are transferred to the flat trough PCI-1713 data acquisition card. The testing and analyzing flat can storage and display the useful data which are detected by the intelligent fixture in locale so that these precious analytic information can be provided on the purpose of further studying, exploiting, maintaining and testing electric or electronic equipment In addition to the above function, the flat is a experiment one on which many experiments can be done such as the exploiture of traction chopper, characteristic research on an asynchronous electromotor as well as development of AC transmission control system.This paper discussed the calculation gist of AC traction and control experiment system software in detail, main structure and function of the procedure which came truevia Visual C++ language. The software may carry out line settings in advance, produced such values as rotate speed and electromagnetic torque, detected in time characteristic parameters of AC electromotors and displayed them in a chart style. Additionally the article exploited the serial-communication system between a PC computer and 80C196 Single-chip Microprocessors so that the experiment can be done in existed condition.The AC traction control software and communication program completed their tasks in experiment, and the simulant and experimental system of the AC traction was in better control.
