With the development of the CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacture), enterprise integration changes from information integration to process integration. The international standard ISO 13584 meets the demand of the standard parts library information exchanging and sharing among enterprises and within enterprises. The objective is to provide a neutral mechanism that can be capable of transferring parts library data, and independent of any application. Part 31 is about geometric programming interface and by which the expression of parametric shape of description programs is portability. In order to make it convenient and efficient for users to utilize the information of parts library, to meet the demand of sharing resource, it is important to develop transform interface based on different CAD application systems. This thesis studied and developed geometric programming interface based on UG.The software system is based on the operation system of Windows 2000, using UG as development plat, C as development tool, and running in the Vc++6.0 environment. Its main function is to convert a part family geometric figure program to a GRIP parametric subprogram that is the quadric development language of UG. The GRIP program can be compiled in the Grip Advanced Development Environment and then the program can be run in the UG CAD and get a three-dimensional part model after transferred by the main program. The parts geometric figure program is a text file, which accords with FORTRAN syntax architecture, and the program is a neutral subprogram, which describes a part family with functions of appendix A of ISO 13584-31.The key technology of developing the software system is the geometric figure program and transform program. This thesis specifies the describing parts family mechanism of ISO 13584 and the structure principle of entities, presents the process of writing geometric figure program in full andintroduces the key technology of writing conversion program by C program, and at this groundwork accomplishes some standard parts family, such as paw, nut and bolt etc.
