Design Study On The Vertical Plane Of Landscape In The Urban Environment

"It is proper to review the past when inspecting the present. " It is also the case in the field of the design on the vertical plane of city landscape. The vertical plane of landscape, the mark of a city's civilization evolution, can reflect the important features of a city. Being the outcome of certain natural geography and social activities, the vertical plane of landscape is the comprehensive fruit of social culture, displaying strong historic continuity and features of our age. With the rapid development of the city, it is increasingly significant to protect city culture and respect the cultural tradition of history in the course of city environmental designing (CED). On one hand, from the angle of studying city culture, the thesis illustrates the great influence of city culture upon the vertical plane of landscape; and analyzes the problems existing in the current CED. On the other hand, from the angle of studying the types, the methods and the elements of the design on the vertical plane of city landscape (DVPCL), the thesis explores the sustainable development of DVPCL.
