The article, according to the theory of source flow control, set forth the contents and methods of the tolerance design of product-oriented design, and making a comparison with the study of computer-aided tolerance design, in particular, tolerance allocation. By comparison, the inadequacy or even the blank in the study work by other people were found, and the article's contents and significances were presented.Having studied the method and mechanism of the automatic formation of tolerance design function, the article presented a mathematical model of tolerance optimum allocation under two different circumstances. The one is to conduct a general formula of the dimension tolerances in a assembly dimension chain, under the condition of having cost-tolerance and quality loss statistic data, and based on the tolerance optimum allocation model of minimizing the manufacture cost-quality loss cost. The other is, to some extend, to realize the concurrent tolerance optimum design, under the condition of the lack of statistic data, but taking advantage of the fuzzy calculation for the part manufacture parameters, which take an effect on tolerance allocation, by fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method.The article used VB as a develop tool, together with the new method mentioned above and the tolerance design method existed before, developing a software system of tolerance analysis and allocation for product-oriented design, and providing a relevant platform for product development and the students and the students who were in graduation or course projects.
