Aggregate gradation of pavement mixture is one of the important parts of the engineering design, it can affect the quality and the cost of the project. The traditional trial arithmetic and the graphics arithmetic have many disadvantages, especially the tremendous workload, the bad error tolerance and not having the economic analysis ability. Based on the real needs, this paper adopts the Visual Basic and Microsoft Access tools, combines the software engineering theories, systematically studies and develops the CAD system for aggregate gradation of pavement mixture which have the data input, optimal arithmetic computation, result diagram display, result output kernel performances. Compared with the current developed systems, the system has many advantages, such as building a mathematical model which have a good match with the aggregate gradation design, bringing forward a linear programming optimal arithmetic to gradation design, implementing the graphics plotting of all kinds of gradation curves which is convenient to the users to evaluate and adjust the system, getting data directly from the electronic scale which have been connected to the system, eliminating the errors and mistakes which come from the operators.When using the system to design aggregate gradation, it can improve the pavement mixture design efficiency, shorten the project period and increase the mixture quality. At the same time, the strength, durability, comfortability and safety of pavement can be improved greatly, and the cost of road maintenance can be reduced evidently. As a result, the road life will be prolonged and the distinguished social benefits can be gained. |
