With the development of economy and the advance of society, construction industry has gotten unprecedentedly prosperous. Kinds of new building materials emerge greatly, which has played the leading role for promoting the development of construction industry. As a kind of new building materials,Expanded Metal Mesh(EMM) has been applied extensively to road bridge , water conservancy project etc. and displayed a great superiority to ordinary steel . However ,as structural main material ,it was never applied to house building, say nothing of the experiment and research on it. According to above condition , in order to find out the different behavior between the EMM and ordinary reinforcing bar, the author has studied preliminarily on the material experiment method, and has conducted experiment on flexural behavior of the concrete one-way slabs reinforced with EMM and ordinary reinforced concrete one-way slab ,and has grasped the entire process of the member with load, and has annalyzed the mechanism and mode of failure. Based on the foundation of analysing and refering to theory of forefathers, this paper has carried out the research on the following sevral aspects of work: 1. As a kind of new building materials, a series of material experiment have been carried out——tensile experiment on single-strand , tensile experiment on mesh , tensile experiment on single-mesh anchored in concrete and tensile experiment on mesh anchored in concrete. Moreover, it was obtained of such behavior indexes of EMM as the relevant strength, modulus of elasticity and deformation capacity by each kind of experiment. 2. It was studied on such behaviors of concrete one-way slab reinforced with EMM as crack appearance, development, distribution, member failure, deformation, crack load, ultimate load, flexural stiffness under vertical load. And parallel experiment was conducted on ordinary reinforced concrete one-way slab to analyze the difference between the corresponding behaviors.
