The thesis reviews the present situation of long-distance sediment transporting technology at home and abroad, studies the technology of long-distance sediment transporting over 5000 meters with one pump in view of the existing problem of long-distance sediment transporting in the lower reach of the YR, brings forward the design parameter of mud pump developing and hydropower model design, and finds the result of model experiment and the parameter of prototype model pump.The thesis consists of six chapters. In Chapter 1, the survey of the lower reach and water and sediment training, the necessity of studying long-distance sediment transporting technology, the presentation of the long-distance sediment transporting technology of the lower reach of the YR these days, the overview and development trend of the world' s long-distance sediment transporting technology, the research on the long-distance transporting in dredging to strengthen the embankment, the main content, objectives and economic analysis of the technique of the research are presented. In Chapter 2, the design parameter of mud pump is analyzed. The boundary condition is confirmed. The diameter of the pipeline is checked and the lowest speed of particles settling, the average flow velocity and the critical velocity of deposition in the pipeline, the linear loss and the total local loss of the pipeline, the delivery lift of the pump under the same flow are calculated. The corollary power of the mud pump is selected. Chapter 3 is the hydropower model design of mud pump. The design parameter of the work condition and the geometrical parameter of the design of the pump are confirmed. Chapter 4 is the model experiment. The result of the hydropower model experiment of mud pump and the capability of prototype model pump converted from mud pump model is presented. In Chapter 5, the corollary of the unit equipment and the foreground of its extending and applying are analyzed. Chapter 6 is the conclusion, followed by acknowledgements and references.
