In the environment of electric power market, how to generate optimal unit commitment and unit distribution according to the load is very important to the thermal power plant, with the development of socialism market economy and electric power reform.In this paper, the distribution and unit commitment in the thermal power are discussed.According to the characteristics of thermal power plant that two kinds of loads -heating loads and power loads are provided. A kind of economical operation approach for pipe-main scheme stream turbo-generator sets based on optimized property of steam demand is proposed. In this approach, the relation curves of average steam demand and power under each load operating status are established by means of collecting the related data of generator's power and the corresponding steam inlet of steam turbine and using the theory of least square method, then the corresponding power of each generator and the steam inlet of each steam turbine which minimize the total steam demand of steam turbines are acquired, thus the total fuel demand is reduced.The thermo-experiment of steam turbine is introduced in detail, the steps of the experiment is described, the reason of error in the experiment and its affect on load distribution are analyzed. The global optimization method and thermo-coefficient suitable for heat supply steam turbine sets is deduced according to the optimized method for Condensing steam turbines sets. The programme for load distribution is also designed.Finally, a set of practical data of load distribution in the thermal power plant are given. The thermo-coefficient method combined with principle of equal incremental production costs is validated by these data. It prove that this method is effective and feasible.
