This thesis, on the basis of field work and data-collection, has made a systematical analysis of the impervious effect of the curtain grouting in the flood control dyke base, located in Fujiang River, Shenjiaba, Mianyang City. The analysis is conducted as follows: Firstly, upon the analysis of the project outline, hydro-geologic conditions and the existing problems, the major function of the grouting is confirmed to prevent seepage. With the reference concerned, the impervious measure is demonstrated to be reasonable in theory and feasible in practice. Secondly, the plan is analysed and verified to be rational and feasible with the study of the field trial materials before grouting and the benefits from experience of other projects alike. Thirdly, the intercepting effect of curtain grouting is evaluated according to the impervious design standards based on a close study of the operating materials and grouting effect test in three sections, and a comparative analysis of the seepage coefficients between different sections, different pitch-rows and the same ones but with different depths before grouting and after. Fourthly, according to the evaluation of grouting effect test, the conventional testing methods, especially pressurized water experiment, have been analysed and the limitations in the grouting effect have been presented. Lastly, for further infonnation to the test of curtain grouting effect, seepage volume of the dyke base is calculated in seepage numerical simulation method. With the comparison of the results, the impervious effect has been verified in theory. The dynamical analysis of the discharge of rainfall and sewage, seepage of the dyke base and drainage from the flood control station has further proved the effect by the actual data-collection.
