HCCI is an attractive advanced combustion process that offers the potential for substantial reductions in both NOx and PM. Now a new diesel HCCI combustion engine is realized based on multi-pulse fuel injection technology and BUMP combustion chamber.A PLIF experimental bench was developed for simultaneously liquid and vapor fuel concentration measurement, which consists of a high pressure injection system, an electronic control system, Nitrogen gas supply system and an optical engine. The electronic-controlled high pressure fuel injection system is suitable for dopants adding and injection pressure regulation. The fuel impingement mixing process measurement experiments in the BUMP combustion chamber were conducted. The effects of a bump ring on the side wall of the combustion chamber to the air/fuel mixing process were observed.
