With development and wide use of color imaging devices recent years, communication and reproduction of color information among different devices is becoming an important subject. The task of the Color Management System(CMS) is to realize the aim. With the development of CMS, Color Management has been developed to the level of standardization. International Color Consortium (ICC), which was formed in 1993 by some famous corporations, accelerates this trend. ICC-based CMS is a generic, device-independent CMS, which is realized on system-level and depended on device profiles.CCD digital camera is an important input device. It is a significant and absolutely necessary work to investigate its color characteristic and characterize it according to standards of the ICC-based CMS. On the basis of investigating ICC standards and the color characteristic of CCD, this paper realizes color characteristic of CCD digital camera using GLUT model according to the ICC standards, and experimental results show the color difference is smaller than 1.6 L*a*b* units. These results meet the applicable criteria. The algorithm is cube interpolation and the model is programmed using Microsoft Visual C++6.0 language on Windows 98 operation system.The investigative results will be of great value to people in study ICC-based CMS and characterizing other device with similar technique, which lays a theoretical base and accumulates the practice experience for the further study in the future, and the developed software is of some reference value in the desktop CMS, too. |
