The popularization and application of some methods within the specific limits, such as compaction sand ground by explosion, removing silt to fill the stone, etc. It shows the advantages of exploding method on quick loading speed, deep treatment depth and so on. But using explosive consolidation method to deal with soft soil ground is still at the stage of exploring stage, and so far has not set up the mechanism of playing a rational role yet. Through the two methods field test and numerical simulation this paper analyzed deformation characteristic of soft soil ground under explosive loading, and expected to contribute to some extent of research in inherent mechanism of dealing with soft soil ground by explosive method.Firstly, a summary of accomplished techniques of dealing with soft soil ground, dealing with ground by explosive method both at home and abroad and current situation of the development of numerical simulation was induced, the research approach of dealing with soft soil ground by explosive method was put forward on this basis.Secondly, the deformation characteristic of soft soil ground and the changing characteristic of soil body on physics mechanics after explosive loading was analyzed through on-the-spot test, then the main factors of influencing explosive results were gained.Thirdly, a finite element software-ANSYS/LS-DYNA3D was used to carry on numerical simulation, on the basis of proving the reliability of explosive vibration calculation results and test results, the remarkable range of the shock wave after the explosion of strip dynamite and deformation characteristic of soft soil ground at the instant explosion were analyzed.Finally, the deformation mechanism of soft soil ground under explosive loading was analyzed taking account of field test and numerical simulation results. The principal conclusions include:a) After the soft soil ground treated by explosion, the velocity of soil consolidation and ground settlement can be quickened, it's propitious to shorten the time limit for a project, the method is fit for urgent project.b) The ground surface settlements of soft soil ground under explosive loading are made up of two parts: consolidation settlement and vertical displacement.c) The deformation of soft soil ground under explosive loading experiences two stages, namely: exploding instant and the period after exploding, which also the two stages of coming into being and dissipation of pore air pressure.d) It is one week that soft soil ground under explosive loading, the earth's surface settlement tends towards stability and the soil body is sure to be improved, it's propitious to heighten the velocity of construction.e) There is a remarkable range in the soil after explosion, and in the remarkable range, soil body yields elastic - plastic deformation mainly, and outside the remarkable range, the elastic deformation takes place in the soil body mainly.f) Certain superimposed soil pressure is favorable to the dissipation of pore air pressure, but the pressure should not exceed the limits that make ground unstable.
