Piling rig is a construction facility that is introduced into our country just in recent year. It is centralize highly in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic. It has many characteristics such as automatization is high, property of environmental protection is good, the efficiency of drilling is high, and progress is rapid, quality is reliable, flexibility is good, versatility, as well as layer adaptability is strong. It represents the development direction of stake work machinery, and gets the favor of construction department deeply. Piling rig is applied mainly to high-rise, road, bridge, power plant, airfield, large-scale port, deep-water dock and so on building projection stake foundation, has been popularized gradually interiorly.Drill rod is a key component of piling rig. On the one hand, the strength of drill rod determines to use what drilling tool, and the shape of drilling tool determines the work efficiency of drilling and layer adaptability. On the other hand, the power configure of equipment, the torque of power unit, hydraulic system, the pull of hoister and the design of support frame all go on around the structure and ability of drill rod. In order to make the configure of entire system more reasonable. Making a static strength, modal and harmonic response analysis for it is the need of piling rig's safe operation. The distance between two sides of caterpillar extension chassis is adjustable. The caterpillar is closed when piling rig transits to convenient for transit. It is open when piling rig in condition of construction to make the piling rig more stable. The stress of several typical operating modes of chassis when the caterpillar of two sides extended is bad. The intensity and rigidity affects directly the stability of piling rig, and affects the quality of hole sequentially. So it is necessary to make strength analysis of chassis to ensure piling rig used safely and steadily.This paper calculated and analyzed the mode and static strength of the drill rod, as well as the responding under the resonance. Based on the software CATIA and ANSYS, and according to the basic step from substance modeling to FEA, we made a FEA analysis of static strength and dynamic property of drill rod in order to get the information about the drill rod such as quiet stress, rigidity, mode of vibration and dynamical stress. In addition, we have made a static strength analysis of chassis, and found out weak position that offered basis for the further optimization of structure. By comparing and evaluating the calculating result, we submitted the reasonable suggestion for improving the structure.It would be realized to design three-dimensional substance and take the intent of design and acquire the geometrical model product quickly with the advanced CAD software. The strength and rigidity are two basic requirements for the mechanical capability of product. Traditional method is a kind of method of guaranteeing property requirement according the designing rule, which lacking the verification about the reasonability of designing result. The technology of CAE has offered powerful analysis function to carry out FEA analysis for model. Through that result we could get the stress and strain of random point so to provide the reliable information to optimize the layout of the structure. There are two steps for the analyzing the drill rod and the chassis. First of all, using the CATIA to design the model. And then proceed the FEA calculation with model, which has been transferred to the ANSYS environment according the data interface the software provided. Thus the mechanical capability of the drill rod and the chassis will be acquired. The software of CATIA has powerful function for modeling. It is fast to get the substance model and convenient to revise the result for designing the model with the software. The software of ANSYS could offer the excellent analysis function for FEA calculation to guarantee the precision of the calculation.
