Evaporation-cooling is effective and safe as generator cooling technology. Condenser is one of the important parts in a evaporation-cooling system, which condensation process in it takes a important role to the performance of the whole evaporation-cooling system. Therefore the condensation heat transfer property between different coolant and different condensing tubes, with different material and different enhancing heat transfer structure, is the base of the condenser designing in evaporation-cooling system, and it is also one of prerequisites for optimizing the whole evaporation-cooling system.In this paper, in order to meet the demands on the research of evaporation-cooling technology, a measuring system is built to measure the condensation heat transfer coefficient, The system consists of the boiler, the condenser, the cooling water system and the measurement system. Generality is the key problem in this system. For example, the tubes should be changed easily when other condensing tubes would be measured, while other parts of the system don't need to be altered. After comparing three structure models of the condenser, the model is adopted in this system, whose seal structures and construction are all simple, and the tubes can be changed easily. In this system a piece of apparatus perfects the measuring system which can measure flow rate automatically. Then the experimental study on the R-113 film condensation heat transfer on horizontal smooth pure copper tubes is performed with this system. The condensation heat transfer coefficients are obtained according to the experimental data. After analyzing some errors in the experiments, the experimental results show that the condensation heat transfer coefficient reduces when the Reynolds number increases. Finally some advices for improving the system's performanceand the further study on the subject are suggested.At the end of the paper, according to the cooling requirements of a ship propulsion motor, double evaporation-cooling technology is presented and tested with the model of the ship propulsion motor. The experimental results show that double evaporation-cooling is actable and can take away the same amount of heat just like normal evaporation-cooling, and that double evaporation-cooling can meet the cooling requirements of the ship propulsion motor after optimizing the design of the cooling system.
