The boundary conditions of numerical calculation were got through the performance test for the centrifugal fan G4-73No.8D. The flow performance of inlet box was analyzed by using the Fluent software, a famous Computational Fluid Dynamic software in the world. The flow field of inlet box with simple diffusor was simulated visually. The result of numerical simulation is three-dimensional. The reasonable precept to improve on the size and type line of inlet box was put forward according to the computational result, which can be taken as the base of flow field computation on fan parts in the future and applied to the structural optimization of centrifugal fan inlet box in power plant.
