The flexible fiber reinforced concrete is a new kind of civil engineering material.Because of its excellent performance compared with traditional concrete,it is used extensively in civil engineering.Based on the recent reserch at home and abroad, the FRC application in civil engineering were discussed. It included:the smart CFRC based on piezoelectricity, the temperature deformation control of synthetic FRC structure, and the basic mechanical properties of FRC.However, few reports concentrated on energy dissipation of flexible FRC structure. In view of the above, the performance of energy dissipation of system consisting of fibers and concrete are studied theoretically and experimentally. In this paper, the application of FRC and recent reserch in the world was described firstly. Then, the geometry of flexible fiber was analyzed, and the constitutive equations were derived for flexible FRC, and the study of dynamic energy loss for wavy fiber reinforced concrete was made on the base of the constitutive relations. Finally, the experiment of dynamic properties of FRC is described, and the dynamic response is measured to obtain the dissipation of the concrete with flexible fibers. The results were useful to make the material for low vibration and noise.
