As the supplier of marine on the sea, replenishment ship can carry kinds of material, such as fuel, freshwater, food, weapons and ammunition etc. The key technology of the replenishment ship is transferring the material in the stormy waves. At present, the most replenishment ship is designed for large naval vessel, which require their tonnage and dimensions is also large.In order to implement adjoint supply to the landing craft formation and integrated supply to coastal islands, a new type of ship, which has several functions such as integrated replenishment on the sea, loading and unloading at ro-ro mode or shoal mode is to be needed. On the base of analyzing the development trend of replenishment ship all over the world, this paper puts forward the idea of developing the new-style multifunctional replenishment ship.The new-style multifunctional replenishment ship is complex in its type and equipments, which are very different from naval integrative replenishment ship, civil ro-ro ship and ferry for cars or passengers. The overall performance of new-style multifunctional replenishment ship is analyzed in this paper. The basal type, the primary arrangement plan and the basal linetype are given.With the computer aid, we use TURBOC 2.0 program language to write the design proof program. And then an alternant multi-objective decision-making method is used, which considers both subjective preconception and external Then, the operating condition on replenishment and the replenishment equipments are discussed. And at last a suitable method is used for seakeeping performance forecast in preliminary design phase, which forecast the rolling, pitching and heaving of the new-style multifunctional replenishment ship. It is valuable for determining the main dimensions of the ship.
