A Primary Study Of Western City's Waterfront District Planning And Design's Principles

Taking Xi'an as example, this paper tries to study the basic principles that how to programme and design the western region city waterfront district of China from the aspects of " General System Theory" and "Urban Design".According to China western region's concrete circumstances, and human society localization and globalization development trend, the article suggests that we shall make an overall plans of the whole district, respect the protection of nature water and build completely the city water system while developing the city waterfront district;discusses how city water system space gradually integrated from points to planes, diffusing and sinking to the whole city at every direction, and how to combine organically other city elements, commonly forming the complete ecosystem and landscape system. Making the combination of contents of place special features, history context, era's characteristics and nature factors etc., the article inquiries the relevant design methods of creating comfortable, safe, variable, applicable, beautiful space and location of city waterfront district. By this way, we expect to amend the city's feature, construct the pleasant dwelling city environment, helping people re-collect the dream of returning back to nature.In regard to programming the waterfront region of the meaning of city space design, we construct city strand water district not for plundering and invading the natural waterside district, but creating an everlasting ecosystem regarding city as the center and radiating neibourhood, and a stable mode of social economic development. And alarming people to realize the inevitable hardship and long-term process soberly andalarming people to realize the inevitable hardship and long-term process soberly and rightly.By writing this paper, the author hopes to provide a more capacious view to deal with city waterfront space, and wishes through the programming and design to remember the mankind misunderstanding and destroy to the nature, informing for the posterity the natural process of our experience, recognition, understanding and respect.The thesis is consisted by six chapters, five parts:The first partrAbove all, the thesis puts forward the study's main contents, purpose, meaning, theory systems and bases, then summing up the literature, sorts and summarizes synthetically the current purpose and programming design principles of city waterfront district development.The second part:The thesis emphasizes the history of China western region city and the development conditions of its strand water district, by the research of the exploiting conditions, problems, necessities etc., tries to obtain the purpose of properly constructing the western region city waterfront.The third part:Including chapter 3 and chapter 4, the thesis aims at the problems and characteristics of China western region city water environment, basically studying the programming and design principles of the western region city waterfront district, proposes an assumption of how to renew the whole western region city ecosystem and watersystem.The fourth part:The long-term argument of the construction of Xi'an waterfront district. According to the programming design principles above discussed, combining the Xi'an metropolis development, the thesis probes the prospect development mode of installation" Chang-an eight waters" and the whole ecosystem of Xi'an city and the western region.The fifth part:Conclusion.
