Considering the widespread low-frequency oscillation, which seriously threatens the safe operating of power system, the discrepancy of calculation results and the facts in system stability analysis by using inappropriate load models, and the maturity of load model theory as well as technique, load characteristics' effect on low-frequency oscillation has come to be a research subject of people's concern. In this paper, on the basis of analysis of low-frequency oscillation's principle and loads' basic characteristics, the model of power system for low-frequency oscillation considering many load characteristics has been built. And load characteristics' effect on low-frequency oscillation has been analyzed. For further research, small-interference stability program has been worked out and calculations as well as analyses of single-machine infinite-bus system, four-machine system and electrical network of Yunnan Province have also been made. And theoretical conclusions are verified.
