Based on previous work which is about correcting shaft-like part drawings, further researches were made in this thesis. The platform used is AutoCAD, and the programming tools are Visual C++6.0 and ObjectArx.The emphasis of the research in thesis lies in identifying the categories of the structures for manufacture and correcting dimensions. And the method adopted is called "character recognition". Using this method, the computer first recognizes the structures in the shaft-like part drawings according to their characteristics, such as slots, through holes and so on, and then corrects the drawings based on the recognition. By this method, the computer can find the mistakes more effectively. Another advantage of this method is that its functions can be extended easily.Besides the above researches, some difficulties in correcting the machine part drawings, such as the matching of the structures when correcting drawings, and the design of custom database as well as the control of the precision in correcting, were discussed; the solutions to these problems were also provided. These research results are capable not only of correcting shaft-like drawings, but also of correcting other kinds of drawings.At the basis of the above researches, the corresponding algorithms and flow charts were presented, and the programs consisting of about fifteen thousands lines was designed with Visual C++, too. At last, the implemented experiments of the programs and the conclusions were given.This thesis is supported by Northwestern Polytechnical University's electronic teaching material budget.
