The Symbology And Architecture Creation

In the influence of globalization as well as modernism architecture sports, the architecture domain appeared characteristic crisis and individuality crisis, and has initiated the consideration to the building creation pluralitization of architect in recent years. Furthermore, the symbol conception is one of these pluralityizations exploration. The symbol conception in architecture creation is a way, which through the characteristic of the space form or exterior image forms to expresses the fixed thought, shows the nature and society civilization characteristic in the specially designated environment, and achieves exchange in the emotion between the architect and the user.Symbolization is one kind of mankind's civilization appearance. And it is also one kind of the consideration method that use concrete thing to show abstract conceptions, thoughts and feelings. At first, the thesis expounds the origin, the characteristic, the hierarchy and the classification of symbol, and makes a summary of existing research of symbol. Then the thesis reviews the history of symbol in architecture field, and analyses the factors which influence the symbolization in building creation and the character of symbolization in architecture. The thesis uses the principle of related branches of learning such as psychology and physiology etc, to analyze application mechanism of symbolization in the architecture creation. At the last, combined with the examples, this thesis expounds the method of symbolization in architecture creation, which include the origination of symbol images, the selection of symbol carrier, and the skills of related design manifestation such as contrast, decomposition and deformation etc. Thus an architecture can be created, which resonates among the people.Though the symbology has the some limitations in the architecture creation, it is be of advantage to create the architecture with humanistic and local character. Our country is in the developing period, and this thesis is hoped to explore a architecture design method which not only suits the times character but also reflects the humanistic spirit, and contributes to found the architecture culture with the Chinese characteristic.
